Privacy Policy

1. Basic Policy

OmakaseMaster (hereinafter referred to as "this App") places the highest priority on user privacy. This App provides sushi-related learning and information services, and we take every possible measure to protect users' personal information.

2. Information We Collect

This App operates based on the following principles:

• Stored on your device in principle: Information you enter (learning history, records, profile, settings, etc.) is stored on your device and is not sent to our servers. The exceptions are the AI chat described below and the advertising described in Section 5.
• When the App is deleted: Data stored on your device is deleted when you uninstall the App. Copies included in your device backups follow your backup settings.
• AI chat: The AI chat is available only to users aged 18 or over. Only when you confirm that you are 18 or over and agree in the in-app consent dialog, the messages you send are transmitted through our server to Google's Gemini API to generate replies. Our server does not store message contents. The age confirmation is part of app version 1.4.2 and later; earlier versions ask only for your agreement to what is sent and to whom.
• IP address: When you use the AI chat, our server program uses your IP address only temporarily to limit the number of requests and does not record it. However, the platform that runs our server (Vercel) keeps request logs, which may include IP addresses, for a short period for its operation.
• Version check: The App reads the latest version information from Firebase (Google). This request contains no information you entered.

3. Purpose of Data Use

Collected data is used only for the following purposes:

• Local storage of learning history
• App functionality improvement
• User experience enhancement
• Generating replies in the AI chat (only for messages you choose to send)

4. Sharing with Third Parties

This App does not share user information with third parties except for the following:

• Google AdMob: Only technical information such as device identifiers for advertising delivery
• Legal obligations: When there is a disclosure request based on laws and regulations
• Google (Gemini API): Messages you send in the AI chat, after your consent, to generate replies. We use the paid Gemini API service, under which Google does not use your messages to improve its products. Google keeps them for a limited period solely to detect abuse and to meet legal requirements. Google handles this data under its own privacy policy and the Gemini API terms.

AI chat messages and IP addresses are processed by companies located in the United States (Google LLC and Vercel Inc.). The United States has no comprehensive federal law on the protection of personal information equivalent to Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information. 5. About Advertising

This App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements:

• Displays banner ads and reward ads
• Personalized ads are disabled
• Uses only minimal technical information for ad display
• We are not responsible for the content of advertisements

6. Data Storage Period

• Learning data: Stored locally until deleted by user
• Settings data: Stored locally until deleted by user
• App deletion: Data stored on your device is deleted (copies in device backups follow your backup settings)

7. Security

The security of this App is as follows:

• Data on your device is protected by the security features of your device's operating system (for example, encryption tied to the device lock). The App does not add its own encryption
• Use of secure communication protocols (HTTPS)
• The API key for the AI service is kept only on our server and is not included in the App
• Updating the libraries the App uses as needed

8. User Rights

Users have the following rights:

• Viewing stored data
• Deleting stored data
• Discontinuing app use
• Withdrawing consent to the AI chat. Tap "Withdraw AI chat consent" in Settings; this row is in app version 1.4.2 and later. In earlier versions, deleting the App deletes the consent record, except for copies held in your device backups, which follow your backup settings. After you withdraw, no messages are sent until you agree again. Messages already sent are handled as described in Section 4

9. Age Requirement

This App is intended for users aged 18 or over. Persons under 18 may not use this App. Before your first AI chat message is sent, the App asks you to confirm that you are 18 or over. This confirmation is made in app version 1.4.2 and later.

10. Integration with Third-Party Services

This App uses the following external services:

• Google AdMob: Advertising delivery. Provider: Google LLC, United States
• Firebase: App version checks only. Provider: Google LLC, United States
• Google Gemini API: Generating AI chat replies. Provider: Google LLC, United States
• Vercel: Running the server that relays AI chat messages; message contents are not stored. Provider: Vercel Inc., United States

11. Policy Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated as necessary. We announce changes on this page, and where a change affects what you agreed to, we ask for your consent again in the App. The latest version can be found on this page.

12. Procedure for Disclosure Requests

The individual or their representative may request notification of the purpose of use, disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, erasure, or suspension of provision to third parties of retained personal data.

Such requests must be submitted through our contact channel in the manner we specify. We will respond only where we can verify that the requester is the individual concerned. We may be unable to respond where verification is not possible or where we are not legally obliged to do so.

For requests for notification of the purpose of use or for disclosure, we may charge a fee of JPY 1,000 per request. In such cases we will respond after payment is confirmed.

13. Transfer of Information upon Business Succession

If we transfer the business relating to this App to a third party, or if the operator of this App changes due to merger, corporate split or other cause, we may transfer the information we have obtained to the successor within the scope of the purposes of use set out in this Policy.

14. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable where a user voluntarily discloses information to a third party, or where information is obtained by a third party through causes not attributable to us.

Even where a user suffers damage because we breached this Policy, our liability arising from our slight negligence shall be limited to JPY 1,000 and to ordinary, direct and actual damages. This limitation does not apply in cases of our willful misconduct or gross negligence.

15. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by Japanese law. In the event of a dispute regarding the handling of information under this Policy, the Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance.
